The 2025 Certified Instructors’ Conference is a transformative experience toward a more connected, inspired, and empowered future of cultivating well-being and respect in the workplace.

When is the 2025 Conference?

Conference will take place from Sunday, July 6 to Friday, July 11, 2025. The daily agenda is as follows:

  • July 6: Evening registration and welcome activities
  • July 7–8: Conference
  • July 9–11: Add-on renewal and training programs (Programs range between 1 and 3 days.)

Does the Certified Instructors’ Conference happen every year?

The Certified Instructors’ Conference is held every other year.

Should I attend Conference?

All Certified Instructors are invited to attend Conference. The event is ideal for anyone who wants to refresh or advance their professional development and training skills.

Can I attend Conference if I’m a new Certified Instructor?

Yes! Conference is a great event for new and current Certified Instructors to learn critical skills.

Training Programs

What trainings will be available at Conference?

CPI will offer Verbal Intervention, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention®, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® With Advanced Physical Skills as in-person instructor certification/recertification or renewal at Conference. Specialty topic programs and renewals, including Trauma, Mental Health, and Autism Spectrum Disorder, can be added and attended virtually after Conference.

What is the post-Conference training program schedule?

Verbal Intervention

  • Certification: Wednesday, July 9 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Renewal: Wednesday, July 9 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention®

  • Certification: Wednesday, July 9 – Friday, July 11 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each day
  • Renewal: Wednesday, July 9 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® With Advanced Physical Skills

  • Certification: Wednesday, July 9 – Friday, July 11 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each day
  • Renewal: Wednesday, July 9 – Thursday, July 10 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each day
  • Upgrade: Wednesday, July 9 – Thursday, July 10 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each day

How will training be conducted at Conference?

Program training follows CPI’s blended model, which includes both online and in-person delivery methods. You will receive a link to the online module via email two weeks before the training. The balance of the training will be in-person, except for the specialty topic programs and renewals, which are virtual and can be completed at any time.

Can I obtain my certification at Conference if I’m not currently a Certified Instructor?

Yes, non-Certified Instructors are welcome to attend Conference if they plan to participate in one of the available training programs.

Can I attend a training program on a different date or another location if I can't attend the post-Conference training programs in Nashville?

Yes. During registration, simply select the Change Location option near the top of the screen.

What goes on in the workshops?

At the workshops, Certified Instructors can take a deeper dive into specific aspects of training. You will learn how to create and deliver an intentional training action plan that will help your organization achieve greater outcomes.

Continuing Education

Can I earn Continuing Education Units at Conference?

Yes, attending an add-on training program at Conference gives you the opportunity to earn continuing education units (CEUs). CPI is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and offers IACET CEUs for learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard. IACET is recognized internationally as a standard development organization and accrediting body that promotes quality of continuing education and training.

What social events are planned for Conference?

We're planning something special! The Conference is at the Grand Hyatt, within walking distance of The Gulch and Midtown. There's easy access to a rich music scene, fantastic dining, and top attractions in Nashville, Tennessee. Details coming soon!

Travel

How do I get to Conference?

How you want to travel to Conference is up to you! Attendees are responsible for all travel and accommodation expenses.

How do I book a room reservation at Grand Hyatt Nashville?

The Grand Hyatt Nashville has set aside a block of rooms for Conference attendees. Call 888-591-1234 or visit the hotel website to make a reservation before June 16, 2025. Note: The reference code is G-MPR0.

Registration

How do I register and pay for Conference?

You can register online or over the phone (877-877-5390) for Conference and add-on training programs. Acceptable payment methods include credit card, debit card, purchase order, or check.

What is the cost to attend Conference?

Starting September 3, 2024, the cost to attend Conference will be $800 USD ($1,100 CAD) per attendee. Registration prices cover all sessions, Conference-designated off-site activities, and meals during active Conference hours. Registration prices do not include travel, accommodations, non-Conference activities, or optional training programs.

Attendees who register for an optional post-Conference training program before November 2024 will pay current training program prices, which can be found on crisisprevention.com. Starting in November 2024, the cost to attend an optional post-Conference training program will increase.

Miscellaneous

Is there a dress code for Conference?

For on- and off-site Conference events and training, please wear appropriate business casual clothing. We highly recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes for hands-on training, particularly for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® With Advanced Physical Skills.
